Aichi, July 9, 2026 — Coats Group plc, a world-leading Tier 2 supplier of critical components to the apparel and footwear industries, today signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation with Tajima Industries Ltd., a global pioneer in embroidery technology, to advance quality and innovation across the embroidery industry.
Central to the long-term partnership is Coats’ global network of Embroidery Service Centres (ESCs), which will serve as innovation hubs equipped with Tajima’s technology platforms for customer co-creation, technical testing and training.
Coats and Tajima will also introduce a joint offering combining high-performance Coats embroidery threads and technical advisory services with Tajima’s pioneering machinery and digital solutions. This includes Tajima’s i TM (Intelligent Thread Management) and DCP (Digitally Controlled Presser Foot) technologies, alongside PulseID, Pulse IQ and DG software platforms, helping brands and manufacturers improve productivity, enhance quality and deliver complex designs at scale. The collaboration will also draw on Coats’ innovation in circular materials, including its 100% recycled polyester threads and its Textile-to-Textile technology.
“Embroidery is a specialised, premium segment where quality and consistency are critical to protecting brand value,” says Adrian Elliott, Group Commercial Officer, Coats. “By partnering with Tajima, we can deliver unique, value-adding solutions that support customers from design through to production.”
The collaboration will extend across apparel and footwear applications, reflecting the growing importance of embroidery as a high-value, technical component in product design and brand differentiation, and the increasing demand for integrated solutions that deliver consistent results.
