The people and the resources to make things happen While some companies have struggled to meet demands during the recent upheaval, Coats has been ready to rise to the challenge. When Ho Chi Minh city locked down in July 2021, government policy was announced that employees would have to live and work in their workplaces. We were given 48 hours to prepare our factories. In such a short period of time, we were ready. Offices were converted into living spaces, and washing-drying equipment was installed, along with ventilation systems for employee safety and comfort. |

We also needed to ensure that there was enough food, water, personal hygiene kits, vitamins, medicines, tents, beds and PPE for all employees. They were (and continue to be) our greatest assets – and so we went above and beyond expectations to care for them and keep them comfortable, happy and entertained. Asked to leave their families and spend the next three months working, sleeping and eating in the factory, hundreds rose to the challenge. 342 had volunteered – more than the number needed.
As one employee said, “I care about our customers, and we appreciate how our company cares for us. I want to share the challenge to help us all go through this difficult time”.
