Gotex
In June 2016 Coats acquired Gotex, a Spanish company that designs, manufactures and sells a range of innovative, high performance industrial textiles to serve industries such as telecommunications (fibre optic cables), energy and oil and gas.
Based near Barcelona, Spain, Gotex is a market leader in coated fiberglass yarns with proprietary technology that enables manufacturing at significantly higher speeds than conventional technology. Gotex products complement Coats’ aramid product range and strengthen it presence in fiber optics.
Gotex is expanding into high-growth markets such as India by leveraging Coats’ unrivaled geographic footprint, breadth of global customer relationships and strong corporate brand. In 2017, Gotex’s revenue growth was c. 30% above 2016.
