Coats plc, the world’s leading industrial thread and consumer textile crafts business, has appointed Andrew Stockwell to the newly created role of Group Head of Tax. Andrew will be responsible for building and leading the focus on optimising the global tax structure for Coats while ensuring it remains compliant with tax laws around the world.
Andrew joins Coats from Dixons Retail plc where he was Interim Head of Direct Tax. Prior to that he held a number of senior tax positions including Head of Tax at engineering group, Charter International plc and Director of Tax Integration at Colfax Corporation..
Richard Howes, Chief Financial Officer, Coats plc, said: ‘Andrew joins us at a period when we are increasing our focus on tax activities across Coats. He brings with him considerable experience in leading tax functions in UK listed companies with particular emphasis on global tax matters.’.
Andrew started his career at Iveco Ford before joining Coopers & Lybrand and is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He is based at Coats’ head office at Stockley Park in London.
