Introduction

New eco-friendly yarn coating innovation for adhesion to rubber. Traditional mechanical rubber goods like hoses, transmission belts, and conveyor dipped cords use RFL-dipped or isocynate coated textile yarns to achieve high adhesive strengths during rubber vulcanization. Coats has developed a unique new eco-friendly coating that is made from natural tree oils. When applied in an energy efficient manner to filament yarns like polyester, para aramids and meta aramids, it produces a coated yarn with equal or higher adhesive pull out strengths compared to RFL which is essentially a resorcinol formaldehyde latex compound. This new eco-friendly coating complex has been trialed successfully to adhere to different types of neoprene and nitrile rubbers.

Features and Benefits

  • New proprietary environmentally friendly coating system for RFL replacement in rubber adhesion
  • Adhesive pull out force and peel strengths that match that of RFL in different rubber types
  • Can be applied to entire range of textile yarns including polyester, para-aramids, and meta-aramids
  • Precision heavy winders to wind multiple ends in heavy constructions

Main Uses

  • Automotive hose
  • Oil and gas hose
  • Industrial hose
