100% para-aramid thread which is stronger than steel and can withstand temperatures up to 450°C
Stronger than steel, para-aramid is a high tenacity, high modulus fibre and delivers high retained strength after heat ageing at elevated temperatures. Protos uses a unique spinning capability for low fault para-aramid yarn.
It has been specifically developed to meet the exacting fire and heat safety standards in many industries including; aerospace, automotive and insulation. This makes it an excellent choice for safety products and protective garments. It is also used in military applications and for tape edging operations on mattresses.
Coats are one of the few thread manufacturers that can dye para-aramid and hence deliver thread in a range of shades.
