Coats’ close relationship with Timberland has recently expanded into the area of zips, allowing the brand to bring an innovative outdoor shoe, The Radler Camp, to market.
The Radler Camp’s groundbreaking design, which enables the shoe to be folded in half, zipped up into a compact package and clipped onto a bag or backpack, has been made possible by Coats Opti’s unique woven spiral zip.
Opti’s woven technology gives a flatter, narrower and stronger zip durable enough for rugged, long-lasting use – a key component of the Timberland design. Each shoe weighs just eight ounces and enables Timberland’s outdoor loving customers to pack what they need without adding extra weight or bulk.
Wouter Van Biene, Managing Director of Global Zips at Coats, said: “I was really excited to see the fantastic response to the Radler Camp. This is a great example of our customer-led innovation and of how Coats’ products are leading the way. By delivering our unique zip, we were able to provide what Timberland needed and they in turn were able to give their customers a cutting-edge product.
