Strategic themes
Developing our CR approach
During 2011 we looked critically at our social and environmental initiatives and carried out a strategic review of our CR programme. A multi-functional team came together from across the business to identify the important CR issues for Coats.
The issues were prioritised by considering their importance to our key stakeholders and their relevance to our corporate goals. For greater clarity, we grouped the issues into seven strategic themes (illustrated below).
For each of the themes, we have developed an action plan to direct our progress. In November we appointed a global Head of CR to coordinate the programme and to make sure that we achieve our objectives.
