In a typical Central Tube cable construction small denier polyester yarns
are often used to separate fiber "bundles." We call these "Marker Yarns"
(sometimes often referred to as "Fiber Bundle Yarns"). That is the most common
use for such threads in Fiber Optic Cable.

Marker Yarns are very similar to the polyester yarns which Coats
manufactures in huge quantities every day all around the world in one of our
65 manufacturing locations for a wide variety of commercial and industrial
applications (producing enough to reach the moon and back approximately every
4 hours!).
