Coats recommends use of our Dabond Ultrabloc L "dual purpose" Polyester
binders with our excellent Ultrabloc water
blocking technology incorporated. The dual purpose approach offers a very low
shrinkage Polyester binder to reduce chances of binder indentations on your
buffer tubes, combined with fantastic water blocking. With the dual purpose
approach you can potentially reduce the number of needed water blocking yarns
thereby saving $$.
Typical uncoated Polyester binders can have up to 4% shrinkage in cable,
contributing to indentations on buffer tubes. With our Dabond Ultrabloc L
we offer a shrinkage of less than 1%, for a 4x improvement. Ask us about even
lower shrinkage possibilities!
Alternatively we also offer either uncoated Dabond (polyester) binders or our
Protos (aramid) binders, depending on your cabling need.
